Ingredients

  • 3 cups ground mahleb

Steps

  1. Toast & Sift: Lightly roast mahleb over low heat, then sift into a bowl.
  2. Mix & Knead: Combine with lemon juice to form a dough.
  3. Smoke Ritual: Spread dough on a wooden plate, invert over acacia wood smoke, and cover. Repeat for 3 days until the paste turns black.
  4. Perfume Blend: Knead in perfumes until fragrant. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Corn Flour Dilka: The Softer Sibling

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ground lupin beans
  • 1 cup corn flour
  • 2 tbsp ground chickpeas
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup rose water
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 cup brewed coffee (cooled)
  • 1 tbsp bitter almond oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp ground musk
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Steps

  1. Soak Cloves: Soak ground cloves overnight.
  2. Cook & Blend: Mix all ingredients (except rose water) over low heat until a soft dough forms.
  3. Smoke & Knead: Smoke the mixture over acacia wood, kneading with soaked cloves. Add rose water for texture if needed.
  4. Store & Use: Refrigerate in an airtight jar.
